Requirements- Pentium 233-megahertz (MHz) processor or faster (300 MHz is recommended)
- At least 64 megabytes (MB) of RAM (128 MB is recommended)
- At least 1.5 gigabytes (GB) of available space on the hard disk
Materials- Compatible PC
- Windows XP installation disk(Home Edition or Professional)
- Serial Number For Windows XP
First off, before we get started be sure to backup any needed files to storage media such as Flash Drives, Cd's/DvD's, or External Hard Drives. Now for the fun part, Installing. Turn on your computer and
quickly insert the disk. You should see the computer say "press any button to boot from disk". If not you need to restart your computer and during bootup press F2. Go into boot options and select to boot from the disk drive before the Hard Disk Drive. Note: The button needed to boot into this menu varies by machine and the options inside are always different. Back to subject. your windows XP installation disk should boot up. It may take a couple of minutes depending on the speed of your PC. Once booted you should see a list of all of your partitions. Hopefully there are none but, if there are we want to delete them. Highlight the partition to be deleted and press D. Then press Enter and then L. This should delete the partition. Repeat this for all the remaining Partitions. Next select the Free Space in your Partition list. Press C to start creating a new one for your Windows XP installation. Select the full size of your hard drive and press Enter. Now Attempt to install Windows Xp on your newly created partition and it should say your partition is not yet formatted. Select NTFS(Quick) and wait for it to format your pc for windows XP and begin installation. Once completed your pc should reboot and move on to step 2 of the installation process. Now it will do a longer installation process. At You can go away for about 10 minute increments but be sure to check back often because it will ask for the serial number and some other information about 10 minutes in and it won't continue until you fill it out. Once completed your pc should reboot and A configuration wizard will greet you. Enter the inforamtion asked and your all set.
